The sli ng and packaging lines were moved more than 400 miles from the midwestern United States. For the sli ng line, Audubon engineered the migra on of the line and all components, including the decoilers and feeders, press cu er, coiler, transfer cars, and downender. An electrical and instrumenta on (E&I) field analysis was performed of the original installa on, with deliverables including embedded conduit plans, conduit cable schedule, and interconnect drawings. Advanced civil and structural engineering prac ces were applied for the founda on and placement to op mize the fit and func on of the sli ng line in its new loca on. For the packaging line, Audubon automa on experts made mechanical, electrical, and programming modifica ons to the bander, stacker, turntable, and stretch wrapper. The line was reoriented from 180° to 90° opera on and was engineered to process in the reverse direc on from the original design. Working with mul ple Allen-Bradley SLC pla orms and PanelView human-machine interfaces (HMIs), the team integrated the various equipment into a complex and cohesive process to ensure tension, speed, knife rota on, feeding, conveyance, and safety. Finally, Audubon deployed, commissioned, and started up the packaging line for efficient, reliable opera ons.
